🌿 🌿 Learn how to transform your city with local initiatives for food security !🌍

Food security is a major challenge for humanity, and local and regional governments are in the front line in tackling this issue. In this context, UCLG, with the support of the French Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs and in partnership with Let's Food, has been committed for the past two years to helping local authorities improve food security and strengthen sustainable food systems.

This webinar is part of a series of initiatives aimed at raising awareness and training key players in the best practices and tools needed to meet the challenges of food security. It follows on from the discussions initiated by UCLG and is a step towards the development of a future MOOC, to be available also here.

This MOOC, which will be based on the study “Rising to the challenges of food security: initiatives by local and regional governments ” published in February 2023 (and available below), will aim to provide teaching resources in English, Spanish and French, complementing the other materials available on this same www.learningwith.uclg.org platform, including those relating to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Webinar objectives:

  • Promote the findings of the food security study: Share trends, recommendations, and innovative policies from 10 featured territories.
  • Reaffirm the crucial role of local and regional governments in the global fight against food insecurity.
  • Identify cooperation needs: Highlight the main requirements for collaboration between local governments in tackling food insecurity.
  • Communicate key recommendations: Explore ways to enhance regional cooperation and implement effective strategies.
  • Facilitate knowledge exchange: Share successful case studies and encourage experience-sharing among participants.

Gather feedback: Establish an evaluation mechanism to measure the webinar's impact and improve future initiatives.
